Shutter Speed a fast shutter speed freezes action, while a slow shutter speed blurs action. Typically, if you shoot slower than 1/125 of a second you would want to use a tripod to prevent camera shake.
Aperture a smaller f-stop number creates a shallow depth of field (only part of the image in focus), a large f-stop number creates a large depth of field (everything in focus).
